FanDuel and Playboy have come together to offer the 2015 Playboy Basketball Championship. This is a daily Fantasy Sports contest that will take place at the Playboy Mansion on the 7th February 2015. The overall winner of the event will take home a cool $100,000 from Hugh Hefner’s place alongside memories of a fantastic weekend.
How to Qualify
This is an event with no direct entry – the only way to make it into the field is by playing in a qualifier. These contests will be held on a weekly basis with differing buy-in amounts. The lowest buy-in qualifier is just $2, with $10, $25 and $100 qualifiers also taking place. The number of seats available at any such qualifier will depend on a combination of the buy-in and the overall number of entries. On some days, you may even find two separate qualifiers for the event at differing buy-in levels. Players who have made it through to the final tournament will have their username listed on the site on the PFC Finalists page.
In total there are 70 places available for the tournament at the Playboy Mansion.
The Main Event Playboy Mansion Package
Firstly, all qualifiers will be awarded a trip package worth $3,000. This consists of a $700 credit towards airfare for the round trip to Los Angeles, chauffeured transport from the airport to the hotel and two nights hotel accommodation. Additionally, there is entry to both the Friday evening reception (for two) and the Championship viewing party (for two) on the Saturday evening.
The viewing party includes top of the line audio-visual equipment where the finalists will be able to keep up to date with the standings and everything that is going on in the NBA that day. Food and beverages will be freely available and games and activities will also be laid on as the qualifiers and their guests lounge poolside.
The Main Event Prizes
As well as the trip to the Playboy Mansion, there is also a lot of prize money at stake – with a total of $500,000 being divided among the 70 players. Every player will walk away with at least $3,000; however there are some great prizes on offer, especially the following for the top 10 finishers:
1st $100,000
2nd $50,000
3rd $30,000
4th $20,000
5th $15,000
6th – 7th $10,000
8th – 10th $8,000
Final and Qualifiers Format
The final tournament (as well as all qualifiers) will be played using the standard Fan Duel NBA scoring rules. Any competitors finishing in a tie will split the prizes for the tied finishing positions. If a qualifier finishes in a tie, no package will be awarded and the two tied players will split the cash value of the first placed finish.
