DraftKings Kick off Football Season with $5 million Bash

$5 million Guaranteed in Week One of the NFL Season

When the Green Bay Packers visit the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday 4^th August, not only will it be the end of a long off season for every football fan, but it also marks the start of the Daily Fantasy Sports season. With the first games of the preseason now taking place, DraftKings have announced their opening week events and overall there are $5 million in guaranteed prize pools and the site offer something for everyone. This page is a list of NFL week 1 DraftKings picks and farther down this page is a rundown of all the major events you’ll be able to enter when the action starts.

The NFL Sunday Million

This event has a $200 buy-in and features a top prize of $100,000.A maximum of 5,555 players can enter this event and the top 1,100 will make the prizepool. This is a multi-entry event meaning you’ll be able to enter as many line-ups as you’d like. Various satellites run for this event including the opportunity to qualify for as little as $2, as well as $5, $12, $27 and $55 qualifiers running as well. These satellite events offer a choice of tournament type – for example for $55 you could enter a 40 player tournament and need a top ten finish, or enter just a four player event and need to win. Here are the top ten payouts for the Sunday Million:

2^nd $50,000

3^rd $25,000

4^th $15,000

5^th 12,500

6^th to 10^th $10,000

Anyone finishing in the cash (1,100^th or better) will receive at least $400.

The NFL $500K Gridiron

This event has a buy-in of just $27 and features the same first prize as the Sunday Million of $100,000. This time you’ll be up against 21,000 players with the top 4,250 making the cash. Once again this is another multi-entry tournament. Here is the prize structure for the top ten:

1^st $100,000

2^nd $40,000

3^rd $25,000

4^th $15,000

5^th $10,000

6^th $7,500

7^th/8^th $5,000

9^th/10^th $2,500

Anyone finishing in the cash (4,250th or better) will receive at least $40.

The NFL $100K Play Action

This is an event for everyone with an entry fee of just $2 and has a top prize of $10,000. The field for this event is a whopping 57,500 players and the top 11,500 players will have a cash finish. Any finish in the top 10 will see a minimum of $200 and any cash is worth at least $4.

The NFL $100K Hail Mary

This event has a buy-in of $12 with a top prize of £10,000. With a maximum field of 9,500 players this is another multi entry event. The top 2,000 players will make the cash with a top ten finish guaranteeing at least $500 and any cash finish being worth $20 or more.

The NFL $100K Thunderdome

This event is not for the faint hearted with a buy-in of $5,300 and features a top prize of $40,000. The bonus in this event is that you’ll only face
nineteen other competitors as the field is capped at twenty. Second place is worth $25,000, 3^rd is worth $15,000 and 4^th and 5^th are worth $10,000.

All of the above events are for games played on Sunday 7^th August and the Monday night games on the 8^th. However, for those of you eager to get going sooner, DraftKings also offer the following guaranteed events incorporating the Thursday night game.

The NFL $100K Touchdown

This event had a $200 entry fee and has a first prize of $100,000. This event is capped at 555 players and the top 125 are guaranteed to make the money. Any players finishing in the top 10 will see a cash of at least $1,000 and $400 is guaranteed to any player finishing in the prize pool.

The NFL $50K Gridiron

This is the smaller version of the $500k Gridiron, with the same $27 entry free but with just 2,100 players as opposed to 21,000 players in the main event. $5,000 is available to the winner and any player in the top ten will make at least $400. The top 400 players are guaranteed at least $50.

With all of the above events and many more combined, DraftKings have a total of $5 Million in Guaranteed events available on week one of the regular season.
