DraftKings 2015 Fantasy Basketball World Championships

Win a Million Dollars at Daily Fantasy Sports Basketball

Win $1 Million playing fantasy NBA at DraftKings.

DraftKings have announced their premier Basketball event, the Fantasy Basketball World Championship with an overall prize fund of $2 Million. Half of this amount will go to the winner, making this the first time that a $1 Million prize will be on offer at a daily fantasy sports basketball event. The finals weekend will take place in Las Vegas, the overall finals package being worth over $50,000.

Qualification the 2015 Fantasy Basketball World Championship

This event is open to just 40 players and there is no direct buy-in, meaning that the entire field will have to make it through a qualifying event. These qualifying events will very in cost and size and will be offered at regular, almost daily intervals until the entire field of 40 players is set. Current qualifiers being offered include buy-ins ranging from between $20 (where you’ll compete with over 3,000 other competitors for a place) and $5,300 (where just a dozen players will battle it out for a place in Vegas).

There are also satellite tournaments to these qualifiers, ranging from just $0.25 all the way up to $1,000. The $2 satellites are perhaps the most interesting for some players, as these events will be free for new players at the site when you make your first deposit. Winning a $2 satellite against 22 other players will give you tickets to 2 separate $20 qualifiers. What better way to way to start your DraftKings adventure by winning a million dollars for nothing!

The qualifiers are running now and will continue to run until
the 16th March, when the final qualifying event takes place and the 40th qualifier will grab their spot.

The Main Event Package

If you are lucky enough to be one of the 40 players heading to Vegas, you’ll be in for a treat! You’ll head to Vegas on the 18th March and go straight to the Aria Hotel and Casino. You’ll spend five nights there before departing on the 23rd March. The event is perfectly timed as it will coincide with the opening weekend of March Madness and DraftKings have catered for this by hosting exclusive viewing parties for the games – the perfect weekend for all fans of sport.

To make your way to Las Vegas, DraftKings will give you $1,000 for airfare as part of a total package worth $55,500. The same weekend will also host the Fantasy Hockey World Championship – so why not try and qualify for that too?

The Main Event Format

The main event itself will take place on the penultimate day of your 5 day stay on the 22nd March. The contest will take place using the standard DraftKings NBA rules and the eight games which tip-off between 3pm and 6pm (EST) will make up the event.

San Antonio @ Atlanta (3PM)

New Orleans @ LA Clippers (3. 30PM)

New York @ Toronto (4PM)

Washington @ Sacramento (6PM)
