Draft Day are holding their ‘Ice Throne’ tournament on January 29th. This is the sites largest Ice Hockey Daily Fantasy Sports contest with $2,000 going to the eventual winner. There are just 225 spots available in the field and these spots are filling up quickly, with 101 seats taken at time of writing. The contest will be played under the standard Draft Day Ice Hockey rules.

Draft Day Ice Hockey Rules
You’ll pick a roster of 9 players without going over your salary cap of $100,000. With this money, you’ll sign a goaltender, two centers, two left wingers, two right wingers and two defensemen.
Your offensive will score points as follows:
Shot on goal = 0.5 pts
Goal = 3 pts
Assist = 2 pts
Penalty Minute = 0.25 pts
Power Play Point = 0.5 pts
Shorthanded Point = 0.5 pts
Blocked Shot = 0.5 pts
Your goalie will score points as follows:
Wins = 3 pts
Goals against = -1.5 pts
Save = 0.3 pts
Shutout = 2 pts
How to Enter the ‘Ice Throne’
There are two ways to enter this event. Firstly you can buy-in directly for $50 and guarantee yourself a seat in the big event. The other way is to win a qualifying event. These tournaments are offered on a daily basis and each features 10 players with the winner grabbing a seat at the final tournament. These ‘satellite’ events have a buy-in of $5.50.
The Prize Fund
40 of the 225 entries to the event will cash. All of the top three will win at least $1,000 and the minimum prize is $100 which will be enjoyed by all players finishing between 16th and 40th. Here is a breakdown of all the cash prizes:

The game will come quick and fast on the day of the contest, with at one point in the evening, at least nine games going on at the same time. The final game in San Jose will probably finish shortly after midnight (EST), at which point one lucky player will taking their seat on the Ice Throne with the tidy sum of $2,000 stashed away neatly in their pocket!
